I started this blog as an open forum for IT Staffing industry professionals to exchange their ideas and  feelings to better our profession.  Please feel free to respond to any of my ranting or open up new topics for discussion.  At all times these thoughts must be presented in a professional manner that encourages participation and are a credit to our industry.

I also encourage candidates for employment to ask questions or state problems they have had with recruiters in the past.  Your input is vital to our success.  After all, you need to be just as happy about your new (or future) employment for your continued usage of our services.

I ask you to identify yourself but I will withhold identification posted if requested.

I reserve the right to not post or edit content to adhere to the above standards of conduct.

Know Your Numbers?

With the new year, I suggest you look back on your 2007 statistics history to enable you to hit your 2008 hire goals.

You should know your actual: 1)  How many new contacts 2) Number of submittals 2) How Many client interviews = 1 hire.

Armed with knowing these numbers, you can work backwards.  If it takes you 50 new contacts, 25 submittals and 5 client interviews to get a hire; and you need to get 4 hires in a month, you need to set 200 new contacts, 100 submittals and 20 client interviews as you goal per month, at least

Your client base and types of requirements will effect these numbers.  VMS accounts will cause an increase in the number of submittals. High competition accounts will increase the speed required for submittals.

Being aware of what it takes in detail to be successful and working towards that goal will get you much further in understanding how you're doing through out the month.
