I started this blog as an open forum for IT Staffing industry professionals to exchange their ideas and  feelings to better our profession.  Please feel free to respond to any of my ranting or open up new topics for discussion.  At all times these thoughts must be presented in a professional manner that encourages participation and are a credit to our industry.

I also encourage candidates for employment to ask questions or state problems they have had with recruiters in the past.  Your input is vital to our success.  After all, you need to be just as happy about your new (or future) employment for your continued usage of our services.

I ask you to identify yourself but I will withhold identification posted if requested.

I reserve the right to not post or edit content to adhere to the above standards of conduct.

Recruiter Metrics on Yourself?

Do you know how many tries it takes you to make a contact with a new candidate?  No, I'm not talking about the averages in the industry.  No, I'm not talking about what you think.  I mean can you tell exactly how many emails and phone calls you spent on your last 10 hires?

There should be no more detail of exactly what it takes YOU to make a hire, then the measurements you take on your performance yourself

If your ATS tracks your activities like it should, you will be way ahead of the game.  Of course, if a recruiter doesn't use the tool correctly, it won't help you.  Count up your numbers.

Track everything.  Look at the numbers in detail.  Look for the patterns.  Do you make more hirers if you use the phone more then emails?  What about if you meet the candidate face to face?  Don't think you know, look at the facts

Take this new found evaluation and then recreate that environment.  Spend your time doing the things that make YOU more successful.
