I started this blog as an open forum for recruiters to exchange their ideas and  feelings to better our profession.  Please feel free to respond to any of my ranting or open up new topics for discussion.  At all times these thoughts must be presented in a professional manner that encourages participation and are a credit to our industry.

I also encourage candidates for employment to ask questions or state problems they have had with recruiters in the past.  Your input is vital to our success.  After all, you need to be just as happy about your new (or future) employment for your continued usage of our services.

I ask you to identify yourself but I will withhold identification posted if requested.

I reserve the right to not post or edit content to adhere to the above standards of conduct.

Supplier - Client Metrics

I responded to a posting on ere.net concerning supplier metrics.  A vendor manager, at a client company, was wanting help deciding on what metrics to use for judging their supplier vendors

What caught my eye was a response comment about the impact client companies have themselves on their vendor's performance.  Things like response time from resume submittal, interviews and offers have a huge impact on vendor performance.  It can deflate recruiter's and sales folks trust and support for working certain client's requirements.  It can turn candidates against vendor companies if they feel they are being strung along.

I see a really good and successful metrics performance plan as a two way street.  Vendors should have input into client company's performance.  A lot of clients would balk at this notion but make the suggestion to your best clients and convince them it really will help them too.
