I started this blog as an open forum for IT Staffing industry professionals to exchange their ideas and  feelings to better our profession.  Please feel free to respond to any of my ranting or open up new topics for discussion.  At all times these thoughts must be presented in a professional manner that encourages participation and are a credit to our industry.

I also encourage candidates for employment to ask questions or state problems they have had with recruiters in the past.  Your input is vital to our success.  After all, you need to be just as happy about your new (or future) employment for your continued usage of our services.

I ask you to identify yourself but I will withhold identification posted if requested.

I reserve the right to not post or edit content to adhere to the above standards of conduct.

Plan for ATS talking to your back office

The Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) available today have become a vital and integrated part of many company's internal controls.  This powerful tool is no longer just available on a large enterprise basis, but because of the growth of the ASP model, monthly seats are around $100.

Think of this:  Your consultants enter their time directly into a online record via the internet.  This record is tied to their employee record in the ATS database.  Their managers log on and approve the time sheets.  Next, complete files are sent to accounting to feed the payroll, invoicing and monthly reporting systems.    All seamless and quick.  Of course, it doesn't fix the never ending problem of time not being entered or hours charged to the wrong project.  But, as long as we deal with human capital, that won't change.

If you are in the market for your first ATS or upgrading, make sure to keep your complete company needs in mind, not just recruiting.
